Even the credits avoid putting individual personalities front and centre - simply: “Mount Hush is Mount Hush.” It’s a fitting statement for a band that has always preferred to let the world around the music do the talking.

Mount Hush first surfaced in 2015 with Low And Behold!, but by their self-titled 2020 debut their identity had become much clearer: music shaped around what the band called the “raw power” and “mystic beauty” of the mountains.

‍Four years later, II took that world somewhere stranger. Krautrock tension turns into heavy blues, punk-rock energy crashes through without warning, and “54” opens into an extended flute passage where another band might reach for another guitar solo. Rather than perfecting one formula, Mount Hush have spent ten years steadily expanding their vocabulary.

‍Written, produced and recorded by Mount Hush themselves, II feels like the natural result of that independence - heavy psychedelia with its own internal logic, rather than another exercise in stoner-rock nostalgia.
